El Rincón de Juan Carlos
Gastronomic restaurant run by the Padrón Brothers with one Michelin Star and three Repsol Suns
Juan Carlos Padrón, the man at the helm of the restaurant, is the only Canarian chef to have received the prestigious Chef de L’Avenir award from the International Academy of Gastronomy in 2017. He is assisted by his brother, Jonathan, the patissier; and Raquel and María José, with their respective partners, are responsible for the dining room and bodega.
They are part of a family history that has always had a focus on gastronomy, through which they have consistently learnt about the essential values of hard work, determination at work, and the constant pursuit of excellence. For years now, this restaurant has been the most highly decorated in the Canary Islands in terms of awards, the most prominent being its Michelin star, which it has proudly held since 2016, along with its three Repsol Suns.
The cuisine at El Rincón de Juan Carlos has been created specially by the chef, it is coherent and authentic, allowing diners to clearly appreciate the flavours without anything disguising the essence of the dish. A style in which flavour and balance are the undisputed mainstays of their creations, combining the best local and international produce.
And the establishment? At 40 metres above sea level, with breathtaking views of the sea, it is undoubtedly one of the most exceptional restaurants on the islands. Completely adapted and refurbished in 2021 to allow the Padrón Brothers and their team to continue flourishing gastronomically, it maintains the intimate and informal character that has always set El Rincón de Juan Carlos apart, thanks to the comprehensive renovation led by the interior designer, Mercè Borrell, who is responsible for the 3-Michelin-Star Lasarte Restaurant, among other projects.
And the bodega? María José and Raquel, sommeliers, are in charge of the dining room and bodega. A carefully selected wine list and pairings that accompany and enhance Juan Carlos and Jonathan’s dishes. Great local, national and international jewels that seek to reflect the personality of the land from which they are grown and the people who produce them.

"The cuisine of Juan Carlos and Jonathan has been acclaimed for years by the leading national and international gastronomic guides and has been decorated with a Michelin star and two Repsol Suns.
A signature cuisine created by the Canarian chef Juan Carlos Padrón who transforms its elaborations into memorable memories for every diner who visits this temple of flavour in the Canary Islands."
"The Padrón brothers decided to raise their successful career in haute cousin up to new levels. They are the owners of El Rincón de Juan Carlos, a superb Michelin-starred restaurant that was chosen as one of the 100 best restaurants in Spain. The awards received are evidence of the excellence of the Canarian gastronomy and cuisine, in which they intend to continue improving by moving to the Royal Hideaway Corales Resort."
"For more than 17 years the chefs have been working in Los Gigantes, in Santiago del Teide, Tenerife. The intention is to continue maintaining the relationship with the local customers but now by offering dinners for exclusive groups in addition to turning the restaurant into an R&D workshop for the team of El Rincón de Juan Carlos. An ideal space to create new dishes, to experiment with Canary Islands products, to organize tasting with the sommelier team and other training activities and to develop workshops with different companies and institutions with which El Rincón has already had agreements for years. In summary, a unique space in the Canary Islands. A restaurant converted into an exclusive gastronomic centre."
